I am planning to visit Versaille and will probably make use of the Paris Museum Pass. I have the following concerns: 1. With the Museum pass, do I go straight to Entrance A without line up at all ; there seems to have lots of queue and some of them are lining up to buy tickets apparently and some looks like they have ticket but still line up for the security check point.
2. With the museum pass, do I need to buy additonal ticket for the garden ? Thanks
Just got back and used the Museum Pass. Yes, you are entitled to skip the "ticket line" which is to the left of the main gate entrance. After you purchase your ticket (or if you already have tickets or you have the museum pass) then you go stand in the line to actually ENTER the Palace. The Museum Pass does NOT allow you to skip ahead of other people in the Entrance Line...it just allows you to skip the ticket line. There were some people in front of us in the entrance line who were turned away when they got to the front because they did not have tickets or a pass. What a shame to stand in line 30-45 minutes and then be turned away to go buy tickets only to return and stand in line for another 30-45 minutes. The gardens are free unless it's one of those days when the fountains are turned on (weekends for sure). The museum pass will not give you entrance to the gardens on fountain days.
1. I can't answer, I had the museum pass and could not find the fast entrance for passholders, and the people who worked there absolutely refused to help me out. It was hot and the lines were long and my brother only wanted to see the gardens anyway, so we skipped it and then
2. Went to the gardens where we discovered that our pass did not in fact cover the admission fee to the gardens. Hopefully someone else here can direct you on how to bypass the lines for the palace tour with the pass.
