Paris Museum Pass-buy online or in Paris?

Should I buy the Paris Museum Pass before online and have it ready to go when we arrive OR to buy in Paris? And where is the easiest place to buy? Thanks.

We bought ours at the Cluny Museum - no line. I guess medieval art isn't popular with everyone. :)

You can print out a list of all the covered museums from the web site. With that in hand buy your pass at a less popular museum (yes like the Cluny which is where I always buy mine as our preferred hotel is nearby). Recommend you avoid buying at the Lovre or Orsay. There will be long ticket lines. Also, we never date our card till the second day there. Day one is pretty jet lagged and there plenty of free stuff to see. If you're going to be there for a week or more wait till day three.

We arrive from London on the Eurostar from London. Do the train stations sell? We are staying close to the St. Chapelle, or Notre Dame. One of these or ?
We are on the opposite side of the river for the Cluny but do you think St. Chapelle might have shorter lines? Thanks

Sam
Curious as to why yo didnt say on-line. We were thinking of getting ours on-line - one less thing to have to do while there.

That's exactly what I was thinking Diane. I want to have passes ready to go.

Simply because most of us see no advantage to paying more for a pass ahead of time and then making sure to pack it and not lose it when its just so easy to get it there and pay for it there. Since you are near St Chapelle Shelly you could try buying it at the Conceirge , which is right next door and never has lines. You could also try the Crypts at Notre Dame( right in front of ND, go down the stairs).

I usually get mine at Invalides. Not too far from the ET, and I'm usually in that area within a day or two. Never had a line there, and then I can play boule with the old guys out front...

Has anyone used the Paris Museum pass to get get a 7euro discounted versailles guided tour? it says if you have a day pass, just wondering if they consider the museum pass a day pass.

The trip is expensive enough without paying unnecessary shipping and handling fees for something that's widely available here once you arrive for less money. Whether you take the advice that you solicited is your decision, of course!

Bought Museum Pass at Gard du Nord after arriving on Eurostar. Had problem finding tourist information kiosk as it was further from arrival area than I expected, but there was no line.
