Paris Museum Pass

T-minus 2 days to departure for Paris! I'm undecided about the Paris museum pass. There will be two adults and two children ages 10 and 16 in our party. My question: If I buy the museum pass for my wife and I, will my children still need some type of ticket to enter various sites even if under 18 are free? If so, I would "lose" the benefit of avoiding ticket lines.

Chuck - Our family was in Paris last year. One of my girls was 14, we didn't need any special ticket for her to enter various sites on the pass.

I don't think so. I've seen groups of school children (who get in free) use the pass entrance at the Louvre and the D'Orsay.

My experience is that the gate keepers at Paris museums are pretty relaxed at the pass entrances.

When you got to the Louvre, please, please look at the other paintings in the gallery that holds the Mona Lisa. There are fabulous Da Vinci's on the other walls that take your breath away. Few people seem to see them. IMHO. the Mona Lisa is far from the most beautiful Da Vinci in that room, the one on the wall opposite the Mona Lisa is, IMHO the best.
Have a great time.

Jeff.

Jeff and Joel: Thanks for the info, exactly what I was looking for, and will do on the other paintings in the Mona Lisa gallery. Should be a shock to the system for my X-box playing 16 year old!
