Which museums require me to stand in line and get a ticket for my children if I have the Paris Museum Pass?
Many people on these boards have wrongly assumed that children do not need tickets to the museums when accompanying a parent with a Paris Museum Pass. The first time I tried to enter somewhere and was told to go back in line to get a (free) ticket for my kids really surprised me. So I'd like to share what I learned about who does and doesn't require tickets for kids: Not all museums covered by the Museum Pass are free for children under 18. Obviously, you have to purchase a ticket for your children. THis includes (but is not limited to) the Aquarium Tropical (free for under 4 only) and the Musée du Cinema (free for under 6), Cité des Sciences et de L'Industrie (free under 6) and the Paris Sewers (under 6 as well). Musée de l'Armée/Tombeau de Napolean requires you to wait in line and get tickets for your children. Tickets are free, but not available through the automated machines, or at the entrance. Notre Dame Tower requires it - but you have to wait in line anyways. Crypt Archeologique du parvis Notre-Dame will give you the tickets for the kids as you enter. You can skip the ticket sales line. Panthéon - I'm not sure about this one. I bought my museum pass here and the children received tickets when I bought my pass. Places that didn't require a ticket: Louvre, Ste. Chapelle, Arc de Triomphe and Centre Pompidou. Hopefully others who have visited other museums lately can add to this list.
