Paris- Museum, bateau boats, etc. tickets

I was looking to purchase the above tickets on line thru Hello Paris. Is it just as easy to pick up a Museum Pass upon are arrival at CDG? Also to purchase bateau tickets on an as need basis the same as metro and RER tickets.

The bateau boat tickets are sold at the boat stops. I bought mine at the Eiffel Tower stop. You buy passes that are good for a full day. When I was there the 5 day pass wasn't much more than a 1 day pass. It's a great way to get around.

We purchased our museum pass at the tourist information booth at CDG after arrival on Air France. It was easy.

Shelly there is almost no advantage to purchasing passes etc in advance or thru a middle man agency.. As noted Museum passes are available in many places,, and the boat pass buy at boat stops..

Metro tickets I buy a book of 10 tickets myself ( called a "carnet") works out to 1:10 euro a ticket instead of 1:40.

I have not purchased a week long pass as I walk mostly everywhere,, but others here can help with that,, ask on the "transportation" forums,, a few of the fellows are whizzes at that type of info!

The RER ,, I assume you want to take the RER into Paris from airport and maybe a day trip somewhere like Versailles? I just buy as I go, you can use a machine if you have the correct change,, or a chipped CC,, or just go to kiosk window. From CDG to Paris its 8:90 I think , and Versailles return was 5:60 ,, I think,, I really don't hold number memory well LOL.

Thanks to you all. You have answered my question. Now to the Itinerary. I will probably ask a few more questions in the next coming months. Thanks again for the speedy replies.

You may want the "Batobus" for the boat that is hop-on-hop-off for an entire day or more. Tickets are sold at each stop. You get a discount if you have the Metro's Passe Navigo. I used this boat in April and enjoyed cruising the river in Paris.

Actually, I was referring to the batobus that Swan mentioned. Sorry for any confusion.

Hi Shelley, You can purchase the Paris Museum pass
at any museum...probably a better idea to buy one from a smaller museum. We purchased the 4 day pass
at the d Orsay..You can buy the pass for 2, 4 or 6 days. It's good for the Louvre, d Orsay, Versailles, Orangerie, tower of Notre Dame, Saint Chapelle Church, and many other locations.
(Versailles..Sat/Sun requires an extra 8 E's for walking the gardens & listening to music..and seeing the water fountains. The Water fountains are NOT always ON..
they're scheduled twice a day..ie...approx. 11 AM, 3:30 PM, etc. Food is expensive in the cafes and service is not very good..you're better off buying
sandwiches at a booth which you will probably see
lst on the right side of the gardens.
Note: The lst Sunday of each month..Paris has quite a few freebie museums..ie.. Louvre, d Orsay, etc.
We purchased the carnet of 10 tickets saving alittle bit of Metro money. If you go to the Eiffel Tower..arrive
before 9 AM if possible..lines will form an hr. later..maybe 400 deep to purchase tickets. Hope you have a fun time in Paris..we were there a wk ago.
