we plan to purchase navigo decouverte passes for our week in paris (we arrive on a monday). i understand that we can have a picture of the correct size taken at the airport. what if we bring our own picture (saving the 4 euros x 2)? how would we attach the picture to the pass?
Use a color copier to shrink your passport photo to the correct size. You can leave it on the whole page so you don't lose the little picture. They'll cut it for you and put it on the pass. Easy peasy and free. You don't need to pay for a pic.
karen...you are the best! thanks for the information, that is just what i shall do.
Karen got lucky. Not all ticket agents will do that for you. It's best if you bring the photos at the correct size and already cut out. You can bring your own glue stick or any other glue/tape to affix the photo. And it costs 5€ in the booths to get the photos taken on the spot.
You can put the pix in an envelop so you don't lose them. I don't remember how I put the photo on the paper, but I do know that I didn't need tape or glue. I paid the €5 for the "kit" at a metro station in Paris, sat down somewhere and put it all together - follow the instructions carefully, once you snap it closed, there's no going back.
thanks all....i think i shall be ready with my glue stick and photos...if that works great...but, if not...then i will shell out the 5 euros x 2...the pass is still a good deal for the time we will be in paris!
You don't have to purchase your Navigo at a Metro Station ticket window. All Tabac shops in Paris sell them, too! That's where I got mine and they did put it together for me. You'll love the pass! You don't even have to remove it from your day bag to use it; just wave the pocket where the pass is anywhere near the purple circle on the turnstiles!
