any thoughts on outdoor markets in Paris that might be of interest to 13 and 15 yr. old girls - thinking of some of the weekly markets in many small french towns with interesting things - neat atmosphere
Hi Carolyn,
Look for the book "Paris in a Basket". Although it is mainly about the food at the markets there is a listing of all the street markets, and locations throughout Paris. ( She has stars rating them). For that age at least one large market is a sight to see. Most of the large markets have clothing, perfume, shoes and jewelry for the girls to look at; my 17y/o niece picked up some nice things; shoes, purse earrings. I am unsure where it was, somewhere in the 6th by a Holiday Inn. There are stands outside the major department stores downtown Paris which are fun to browse through, but the markets have better prices. Remember the markets open usually at 8am and some finish by 1-2 pm others opened till after 5pm.
Have a good time.
There's another book, Markets of Paris by Dixon Long, that lists many markets in Paris.
