Looking for a good inexpensive hostel to stay in that is safe and centrally located this weekend for two college students. Any suggestions?

Given the short notice, you might try one of the sites that specializes in hostels like hostelworld, hostelbookers, or hihostels.com. These sites have plenty of reviews posted. You also might try something like priceline or hotwire.
