Paris, Loire Valley, Giverny, DDay Beaches, Mont. St. Michel

We will be in France for 4 days. We will be staying part of that time in Paris but since we have been to Paris before we want to spend some time visiting Giverny, the Loire Valley, D-Day Beaches and Mont St. Michel. What is the best way to see all of this in just a few days? Should we use the train, car, or combination? Should we pay for tours or see on our own? If we have to leave off something what should it be? I know we are trying to do a lot so we would appreciate any advice from someone who has done this before.

Do yourself a favor- pick either the Loire Valley or Normandy. Consider that if two of your days will largely be spent traveling between destinations, that leaves only two fulls days to actually visit the sites.

pick your favorites and take a guided tour. you have too much to see with too little time.

Boy, I got tired just thinking about doing all that in 4 days....especially if you have jet lag. I think you need to omit the Loire Valley, since Giverny is on the way to Normandy which is on the way to Mont St. Michel. If you throw the chateaux into that mix, it will be as Kent says, a mad rush.

Bob,
We arrived in Paris, got lost, arrived at
Mont. St. Michel by 5:00, and stayed there overnight. Then we drove to Normandy Beaches,Chenonceau, and Chambord, stayed in Amboise. The next day we went to Paris. All that in 2 days, but we survived and loved every minute...not an in depth visit that time, but enough to know to which places we want to return for a longer visit. Kent's itinerary is do-able!
