Paris Lodging for four.

I'm going to be in Paris with my wife, mother, and my good friend.

I'm trying to find an apartment or hotel that can sleep all of us. Everything I find is either two beds(I don't want my buddy sleeping with my mother) or too expensive so I need three separate beds, or two beds and a futon. We are trying to stay under $240 per night. Any ideas?

In the 7th, the Relais Bosquet has a lovely apartment, also go to vacationinparis.com. They have lovely apartments and you can search by number of bedrooms or area of town. There are some lovely ones in the 7th, 6th. They are wonderful to deal with.

Ibis Hotels is offering a "Happy 20" rate in Paris with rooms at 59 Euro (about $80 USD) per night. At that rate, you can book 3 rooms and your mother and friend can each have their own private hotel room.

If you are going in the summer, you might also appreciate that several Ibis hotels in Paris offer air conditioning and elevators - 2 amenities that a lot of the lower-priced apartment rentals in Paris don't typically have.

This is an internet only rate so you have to book online through Ibis or Accor Hotels website, and there are no refunds for cancellations.

Don't know when you're coming or how long the stay but i do suggest that you continue with the search for an apartment rather than hotel...you'll feel much more at "home" in the city and more free to do as you want, together or apart...Sorry that this is just opinion, rather than specific advice, but i think there are several suggestions about apt rentals previously given.

Hi Brett,
We had good luck renting an apartment in Paris from VRBO (Vacation Rental by Owner.) You can view options at www.vrbo.com

Yes, Sam. You are correct. Ibis does not offer Parisian charm and rooms are cookie cutter, but the poster has a budget he is trying to stick to and he's got his mom and best friend in tow (and the mom and buddy probably don't really want to share a bedroom - even if it has 2 twin beds).

Three bedroom apartments in Paris are typically more than $240 per night, and many 2 bedrooms (even ones with a sleeper sofa in the living room) aren't that large. If you have never spent a week with 3 other adults in a 300 to 400 square foot apartment I can assure you it's not that comfortable. Also, apartment rentals usually require an extra deposit the landlord will hold for cleaning/security - and even though he would get that deposit back at the end, he may not have the funds to put up the deposit on the front end.

Besides, how much time does one really spend in their apartment or hotel room when they are in Paris? It's just a place to sleep and take a shower.

I a traveling with my husband and 2 children and I ran into the same problem. I finally found an apartment website www.vrbo.com (vacation rental by owner) that we used when we vacationed in Florida. They have many apts in many price ranges. You should probably know where in Paris you want to stay as that will help you narrow things down a bit. You might also want to make sure you know how close the nearest metro station is and its name, if that is important to you. You can email the owner directly and ask questions. Good luck!
