Paris lodging

My 71 yr old sister and I will be in Paris in mid-september. Aging knees NEED an elevator. Any reccommendations? Cost is a consideration. Thank you

In what area of the city would you like to stay? If you share that information, I am sure others will be able to help. We usually stay in the 5th. We like the Hotel St. Jacques and the Saint Christophe which is up the hill, closer to the Pantheon. The St. Jacques does not have an elevator to go down to the breakfast room but the Saint Christophe does. I appreciate the sentiment about bad (never aging) knees! :)

How about the Hotel Hospital near Notre Dame? It is close to the Metro and the boat dock. The prices appear reasonable - especially for the location.

We liked the Hotel Home Latin in the Latin Quarter. The lift is tiny but it is a lift. The hotel was on a quiet street and convenient to Notre Dame, the Pantheon and the Luxembourg Gardens. You can go to Booking.com and check out hotels by price and location and the detailed descriptions will mention whether or not the hotel has a lift. Once you find a place that sounds good, try looking it up on the web since a lot of the hotels have better rates on their web sites. I understand your concerns since I have a 71 year old knee that I messed up about 60 years ago and it is not getting any better. On nice day, one pleasant way to rest ones legs for a while is to get a ticket for the Batobus, they are hop on hop off boats that run on the Seine from the Eiffel Tower to the Ille St. Louis and stop at the major attractions. There is not narration but the ticket is good all day and you can use it all you want until you get tired of watching a beautiful city glide by. Have a great trip.

Laurel ,you might want to consider an Accor hotel . A major chain ( Ibis , Mercure , Novotel ,et al ) they are ubiquitous in Paris in many locations . The properties they operate usually do have lifts ( I don't want to say always , but I think so ) I have used Accor many times , and have always been quite happy . They are also present all across France and in most other European countries. Whatever you choose , bear in mind that September is high trade show and fashion show month in Paris and hotels book up fast all over town ,so I would firm up my plans as soon as possible .

Hotel Agora St Germain has an elevator. Near the Pantheon. Hotel Hospital is right next to Notre Dame and is an interesting place. Clean, good reviews, nice location although a little sterile being in a hospital. Look at www.yeego.com for Paris Hotels at really good prices. I've booked the Agora from yeego twice for much less than booking directly AND I get bfast included which isn't the case booking directly.
