We are traveling to Paris with 2 kids(ages 9 and 3) in July. We reach there on Bastille day afternoon and will leave on the 17th night to Venice. What will be a good itinerary for those days? We definitely want to see Eiffel tower, Louvre Museum, Versailles and the Fashion street. What is the average wait time for museums and Eiffel tower in July?
Be sure to go to the Luxembourg Gardens, you will love it and so will your kids. They have a really nice playground that my son always loved going to with marionette shows, donkey rides, carousel, and a cafe. Bastille Day night they have fireworks at the Eiffel Tower. You can sit on the grass in the Champs de Mars and enjoy.
We're going this June and our 11 year old mostly wants to go to the street markets and see the Catacombs. I don't know if it's too scary for a little one. Also,Notre Dame Cahtedral, with the Hunchback connection seems to hold her interest. I believe on Thurs. and Sat. nights they have a kind of light show. Check their website.
Bon Chance!
Tuileries Gardens (right outside the Louvre) are smaller and more convenient than Luxembourg, a nice little carousel and a round pond where children sail their model boats. You will probably find this better for a 3 year old, and enough to interest the 9 year old. You can always reward everyone with hot chestnuts. At that time of year you should find carousels all over Paris. usually one at the foot of Eiffel Tower and a lot of the little sqaures and parks
