My husband and I will be traveling to Paris in late July for a week. Please recommend restaurants that we need to make sure we do not miss. Mention any coffee shops or cafes as well. Thank you! W will be staying in the area near the Eiffel Tower.
Jane, your need for recommendations is so broad I can't think how it can be answered. There are literally thousands of restaurants and cafés in Paris, as you no doubt know. Which ones should you not miss? The ones you can afford, the ones with cuisines you like. parisbymouth.com is a good website to suss out what you might like and in the location you might like. Though there are restaurants there, "near the Eiffel Tower" is not the best part of Paris for a variety of dining choices, in my opinion.
Jane: A great Paris restaurant resource is David Lebovitz's blog. Mr. Lebovitz is an American ex-pat living in Paris. He has detailed reviews and recommendations on everything from street food to four-star cuisine in virtually all sections of Paris. Just google up his name and you will find it. I warn you though - his blog is highly addictive! Have fun.
