My husband and I are planning to take my 1yr old for an 8 day trip to Paris. We would like to include some day trips as well. Any ideas or suggestions for trip ideas and any advice for travelling this time of year with a baby? Thanks!
When our kids were little and living in Europe (just 5 years ago), we packed them up warmly (snow suit) and put them in the backpack. Strollers are do-able, but not always super convenient up and down the subway stairs. A 1year old is light enough to carry around. They get a good view from up there, too, so they're entertained. Also, if they fall asleep in the backpack but you want to stop for lunch, you can take off the pack and put out the kick stand to just set them next to the table.
If you do take a stroller you will find the buses easier to use than the metro. Lots of mothers with strollers on the buses.
