You'll need to be a little forthcoming with details if you want recommendations. How many in your party? What is your budget? Can you manage in a hotel without elevators? Would you prefer a quiet neighbourhood or a lively one? What level of amenities do you require?

Karen, you also need to define your price range for a "nice" hotel even the RS book recommendations range from E70 to E300 for a double. Take a look at some of the booking sites to see what's still available in your price range and preferred areas for the dates you have in mind. (Booking.com, hotels.com, venere.com are sites I have used in the past.) September looks to be very popular in September.

Thank you for responses. It will by my husband and I traveling. We are looking at apprx 70 euros - 150 euros. We do not require an elevator.
We would prefer a quieter area of Paris.

In that case let me recommend Hotel Ideal, ave Emile-Zola in the 15th arrond. or the Campanile Nation in the 11th.

Another hotel to check out is Hotel de l'Avre in the 15th. We stayed there for 6 wks and loved it although I prefer to stay in the 4th-6th. Friends have stayed at Hotel de l'Avre and also loved it. Wonderful owner and staff, a lovely garden, nice clean rooms/bathrooms, good French breakfast and it's practically next to a great Monoprix, outdoor market, and a Metro stop where 3 lines intersect.

Do you have a copy of the RS Paris Guide Book yet? If so, great. If not, I would recommend you get one ASAP as it has lots of information you are looking for and that we use when staying in Paris. We like, and stay, in the district nearest the Eiffel Tower. aloha charl
