We have one afternoon and evening in Paris before a 10:15 a.m. flight home. We're looking for quick and easy transit to the airport and have come up with Hotel Michelet Odeon and Grand Hotel des Balcons, both near Luxembourg Garden. I'd love to hear from anyone who has stayed at either of these hotels, or from anyone who has another suggestion. We will have spent time in the Marais neighborhood and near Oberkampf Metro station, and are looking for a new neighborhood to visit (briefly, unfortunately.) Thanks for any help you can give me!

Hi Nancy, Since you have such a short amount of time, I recommend the Montparnasse area because there are lots of hotels and Gare Montparnasse has direct transport to CDG. You can either take the train or there are always bus shuttles at the station if you want too. And if you like the Luxembourg area for the park and shops, Montparnasse is only 10-15 min walk from there. St.Germain des Pres is also right on your doorstep. We've stayed there a couple of times and will continue to do so in future -- we just returned last week.

Try Hotel Luxembourg. Its a small hotel on a quiet street. The RER line for CDG can be easily accessed from the hotel (around the corner). No transfers are required as the metro line takes you directly to CDG. The gardens are easily accesssible and you will be located near the Pantheon.
