When we leave Paris, we will be catching a train to Decize from the Bercy train station (Gare Bercy). I am curious as to the best way to get to Gare Bercy from our hotel near the Eiffel Tower. I believe that our hotel is close to the Ecole Militaire Metro stop. However, some of you veteran travelers to Paris might prefer an alternative way to get there. I would appreciate your thoughts. Thank you kindly.
Your easiest route would probably be Line 8 (or depending on where you are exactly it might be quicker to walk) to La Motte Picquet and then Line 6 to Bercy. Line 6 is interesting as well as a lot of it is elevated rather than tunnel.
The metro's going to beat the bus. A taxi will cost more. If you have your departure point right, it's a half-hour deal with an easy change at Madeleine. The amount of stuff you're lugging will be a factor.
I like Phillips's route better and the time's going to be about the same. So's the ease of making the change.
Excellent. Thank you for the info. As for "stuff I have to lug", not an issue.
