Want to stay in Marais - Rick recommends these hotels does anyone have experience with any of them?
I stayed at Hotel Sevigne last June and am going back there in September (yay, back to Paris).
The location is terrific for me and the price is right. It was clean, the AC worked fine, didn't eat breakfast there. The bathroom had been recently remodeled, all tiled, very nice, lots of hot water. It's a block from the St Paul metro station. Within a block: minimarkets, patisseries, drug store, laundromat, great pizzeria, etc. etc.
I had some trouble making the reservation for September. I sent a reservation request twice through their internet site, no response, so I phoned and they okayed the dates and took my credit card info. They said to send them an email request, which I did. After a few days without a response from them, I called again. They said they had sent an email but would send another - which I did receive.
Forgot to mention - hence the edit - they charge your credit card for the first night's stay - nonrefundable.
