Hi everyone. We will be in Paris for the first time in early November for a pre-cruise and need help to point us in the right direction for choosing a hotel. We will be taking the Air France shuttle bus and from what I have read will end in either Gare Montparnasse or Place de l'Etoile. We arrive at CDG and leave from ORY. Older historic 2 or 3 star hotels are more our style, of course we want it to be clean and safe. Are we right in our research so far? Does anyone have a hotel suggestion - we will walk from the station to our hotel (if it's possible) and just pull our luggage.
Les cars Air France run several routes. The Montparnasse bus stops first in front of Gare de Lyon which gives you access to both the 10th and 12th arrondisments. You can find lots of information about the buses, plus connections onward to Orly, at http://www.aeroportsdeparis.fr/ADP/en-GB/Passagers/Home/
Getting to Orly is much shorter and somewhat easier than CDG so this does not have to be a big concern. One vexing point is that the speedy but short robot train connecting the Metro to the airport requires a separate ticket that is much more expensive than the subway (almost 9 €.)
