Paris hotel choice in Rue Cler area

For 4 nights in late May, I'm looking at Hotel Beaugency and Grand Hotel Leveque. Your experiences and your choice? Thanks!

Did you read the reviews on tripadvisor.com and other sites, i always google the hotel name and reveiws and read several sites to get a fuller idea of general opinion on a hotel.

For location you can't beat the Leveque. I've stayed there in their single rooms. The single rooms are not ensuite; I probably will not return, for that reason. However, the double rooms are ensuite, I believe. Rates are reasonable. I have no experience with the other hotel. Both of these hotels are mentioned in the RS books.

Beaugency is more of a business class hotel; staff are friendly, mini-fridges in rooms, petit déjeuner can be served in room, overall "well-appointed".
Lévêque superior rooms are well-worth it just for the thicker towels, staff is not quite as friendly (some more so than others), food is not allowed in room and won't let you bring it into the breakfast room even.

We stayed in Hotel du Champs de Mars. Our room was very Parisian in style...small but pretty and quite comfortable...clean and in a convenient location. It had its own bath and in the bedroom instead of wallpaper it had fabric covered padded walls. Our window opened onto the street so we had some street noise because we had the window open but with the window closed it was no problem. Lobby and hallways were small but that didn't matter to us. I would stay here again. Happy travels

Champ du Mars is a good choice. Hotel Muguet is a step up in price but you will have AC in case it's hot.

Stayed at Beaugency on an RS tour and Leveque on our own a few years later. Both small rooms but comfortable. Both good locations and not far from Metro. Good experiences with both. Have fun!

If they are in the Rue Cler and listed in RS don't waste a lot of time trying to decide, they are probably already booked for May. For a first time visitor you can't go wrong with any of the RS recommendations, just start emailing and take the first one you can get. You can even book several now and cancel in a few weeks when you are more sure.

Thanks to all for the replies thus far. I'm leaning toward the Beaugency after reviewing both hotels on TripAdvisor. Both still have rooms for late May. Cheers!
