paris hotel

Can someone recommend a hotel in Paris for 2 adults, 2 children that we could drive to (we will have a rental car). Would prefer close to a metro station.

Are you keeping your car while you are in Paris? If you are looking for a hotel with parking, I think you are going to have a really hard time finding something in Paris, unless you stay out by one of the airports. That said, I drove into Paris one year and stayed at the Hotel d'Argenson in the 8th (metro is close). There is street parking, but you have to pay to park. I just left my car overnight and returned it the next day. The Hotel d'Argenson has large family rooms that I believe would accomondate your family. There are also underground parking garages around Paris that cost about 20 or 25 euros per day. Paris is not easy to visit with a car!

If you actually are keeping your car while in Paris and need to park it therefore, you could have a look at hotels at La Defense (Ibis, for instance), many of which have parking garages. There is a metro station right at La Defense, as well as Bus No. 73 which takes you all the way down Champs-Elysées and to the d'Orsay.

How long will you be staying in Paris? If more than a few days, you might want to look for longer-term parking and drop the car off there, then take the Metro to your hotel. We always stay at l'Hotel Hameau de Passy, 48 rue de Passy. It's smack dab between two Metro stops and a lovely place to stay.
