Any suggestions on a good hostel to stay in Paris?
I stayed at the MIJE hostel for 4 nights in 2008 and had a really good experience. Cost was about 30 Euro per night, including a continental breakfast (croissants and orange juice). You can't beat the location, it's on rue de Fourcy about a 5 minute walk from Notre Dame. The only thing to be aware of was that they locked the doors at 2 a.m. Everything was clean and pretty well-maintained. Because of the 2 a.m. curfew a lot of school groups use it, but there were also older people there, too (I was 33 at the time). Just do a Google search for MIJE and it's your first result.
There are three MIJE hostels, not one, in the Marais. They are renovated 17th-century private mansions and Rick Steves calls them "the best budget accommodations in Paris." All are within easy walking distance of the St-Paul metro station. Fourcy happens to be the closest. I, too, highly recommend them.
thanks for the info! I appreciate the help.
