From personal experience I can recommend any of the three MIJE hostels in the Marais. Go to www.mije.com.
I've heard good reports about Le Village Hostel in Montmartre. Go to www.villagehostel.fr.

Allison, the "Esmeralda Hotel" is just across the river Seine from Notre Dame cathedral. The hotel is famous for its decor and economical prices - so if you want two nights there you will need to make reservations. Bon Voyage ! P.
