I have points to use for hotels in Paris at Hilton and Marriott. Any suggestions as to which ones are best?
The 3 Hiltons at La Defense, Arc de Triomphe, and the one in the 15th arr. all have the same rating by Michelin, in their "grand confort" (their 2nd highest) category, as does the Marriott on Champs-Elysees.
Personally, I think Paris Hilton is a bimbo!
www.tripadvisor.com is a good site for individual hotel reviews. Many more than you'll get here. Good luck!
We used points at the Marriott Rive Gauche summer of '07. Very nice - convenient to the Metro. Only one transfer from CDG to hotel.
The Paris Hilton in the 15th arrondissement is very close to the Eiffel Tower and is very nice but doesn't have great views. They also have a GREAT restaurant!
The Arc de Triomphe Hilton is quite nice. I stayed there a year ago June. We had Gold status at the time and had a 6 night stay booked using the global reward (175000) points and were upgraded to the executive floor. From the hotel, it is only a couple of blocks to the Champs Elysees, the Arc de Triomphe, and the nearest metro stop.
During the time that we went, the French Open was going on and there were several tennis stars frequenting the lounge, including Martina Navratilova. We booked the hotel 6+ months in advance, so you may not want to wait too long.
I have used my Marriott points several times at the Rive Guache location. (Most recently this past August) I like the location, hotel was redone fairly recently and the "price" is good.
I am not a fan of the Champs Elysee location of Marriott and the price is high. The Renissance Vendome gets great reviews!
