I am planning a trip for two adults to Paris in October and was wondering if anyone knows of any clean, friendly guest houses, B & Bs, or small inns near a metro station in Paris? Anything in the $100 or less a night range you could confidently recommend? Thank you-- Merci beaucoup! Michelle
We stayed at the Perfect Hotel near Montmartre. It is a 5 minute walk to the Metro and is in a nice neighborhood. Transit was easy from there and we saw everything we wanted to.
It was cheap for a private room with a shower and you got breakfast of coffee and bread/jam. Has an elevator. Wasn't the classiest place in the world but I was quite comfortable there. Free luggage storage as well.
I quite enjoyed one evening we were staying there when someone was playing classical guitar the floor above and we could hear them from our window. It was quite a memory.
Also, there is a GREAT Indian food place down the street.
We have booked a Paris visit for July through www.vrbo.com. There are lots of choices and the prices are very reasonable.
If you check out the websites (google them) of these 2 hotels, both 2 star and I have stayed at both, they may be what you seek.
Hotel Ideal, rue Emile-Zola, 15th arrondissement
Hotel Camelia Prestige, rue Philippe-Auguste, 11th arrond.
Both are a short walk to bus & metro and I think would suit your budget. I prefer the Hotel Ideal because the Camelia has fancied up a bit and put on a few airs, but it's still a neat little hotel.
Thank you for these recommendations I will check them out! Michelle
