Is the booking firm "Paris Visit Services" legitimate? Does anyone have any experience with them?
I don't know about Paris Visit Services, but I have rented an apartment through parisbestlodge.com in 2005 and have rented through vrbo.com for my upcoming trip this fall. Vrbo was used by someone my husband works with. Good luck!
I also used vrbo.
I used Vacations In Paris and rented a small but unique apartment in Le Marais. Be warned that there are usually a lot of rules and a lot of money upfront.
Hi Jim,
Not rented through Paris Visit Services, but can highly recommend www.rentalfrance.com
THey have quite a few apartments in various locations.
Last September I rented 37 Rue St Paul in the Marais for a month. They are excellent to deal with, speak english, and I would use them again. Pascal is the person to deal with - he's great.
I used Escalea for a moth's rental of a ground floor apartment, which are very hard to find. It's a great place with a very helpful agent. There are big bucks up front but I've saved that in restaurant tabs. I would use Escalea again.
We are in Paris now, staying at a great apartment we found through vrbo.com. It's been great, and we had a great host show us around. Highly recommend it. Good luck!
Have also used vrbo and another named Franceforrent.com
Have been satisfied with both. Always check to see what floor and if a lift is available if climbing steep stairs is an issue.
