I want to organize a trip for my husband to France. I lived in Paris for 9 months 19 years ago and I love the city. My husband has never been and I want this to be very memorable for him. I am planning to spend 4.5 days in Paris and 1.5 days in the South of France + travel time; my thoughts were Nice and Monaco, since we could fly out of Nice. However, I would prefer to see Monaco, Antibes, Cannes and St. Tropez over Nice...Any suggestions? The other option would be to take a day trip from Paris to Brittany & Giverny, but we love the ocean and I think seeing the Cote D'Azur would really round out the experience. I appreciate your thoughts in making the most of these 6 days.
Thank you for your reply. Why do you say if we must go to the South of France, is there another place you would recommend outside of Paris?
I appreciate your thoughts.
Like Steve, I think Antibes would be a fine choice. Enjoy the sandy beach and explore the walled old town with its outdoor market. If you're art lovers, don't miss the Picasso Museum.
As of 1 February express bus #250 will go from Antibes to the Nice airport in 35 minutes. See here.
IMO, unless you want to walk along the boulevard de la Croisette and glance at the hotels and apartments of the rich and famous, there is little of interest in Cannes.
