I have traveled to Paris several times in the past so am somewhat familiar with sites there. THIS QUESTION IS ONLY FOR THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN IN PARIS IN THE LAST FEW WEEKS. Are there places that are closed for renovation? AND Did you find some places to eat that you really liked?
Marilyn,, since you are somewhat familar with the sights, I suggest you decide which ones you want to visit this time and go ONLINE to their websites, almost everywhere has websites nowadays,, and that way you can find out if there are closures for the sights you want to see, ON the exact days you will be in Paris.. Something may be open this week, and closed next week right? So go online.
I'm not sure I answered your question in my earlier post. I was in Paris 2 weeks ago. I found nothing closed for renovation.
We just got back two days ago. I can't think of anything major that was closed for renovation.
As for food... we always stay on Rue de Passy, and there's a local bistro there (I think it's at #38) that we love. The food is solidly good, neighborhood joint fare, and not all that horrendously expensive for Paris. This time we both went MAD for their Hache Parmentier du Canard. Buttery, ducky, yummy goodness! And their plats du jours are always fresh and tasty.
