Paris for 24 hours

We are flying into CDG international and will be in Paris for 24 hours.

I know not enought time. But hey, it's all we have.

I am looking for a place to stay for the 1 night that has easy access to and from the airport as well as to the Eiffel Tower for around 100.00 US.

We don't plan on spending time in a hotel other than for a quick nights sleep, so location and price are more important than amenities.

Beyond the Eiffel Tower, we are totally open to seeing anything and would love suggestions.

Thanks in advance

Tina

I can do a lot better than the post above. I'll explain why when I do. Give me your arrival and departure times from CDG as well as month and day of week. Give me a few hours to respond, today is going to be one of those.

Ed, I am really looking forward to your answer. We are arriving 11:30 Gare St Lazare on a Fri and departing Gare du Nord at 8:03 on Sat. We are staying at Mercure Paris Terminus Nord. We will only have small tote bag with us. We have been to Paris before so have seen the Louve, Notre Dame and have been to the top of the Tower. Interested in a good walking route that will end us up at the hotel in the evening, doing a litle shopping and a great lunch and or dinner location. Thanks!

Arrgh! Are Tina and Jane traveling together or do I have a twofer going here?

If separate:

Tina, your dates make no sense, are those airport times, will you consider other hotels, have you been to Paris previously

Jane, give me an idea of "shopping" since I darn well might be a dud in that area

Expect answer in many more hours, today is starting to stink.

Okay, Tina. One more question. Airport times are what you gave or something else?

And for both of you characters, I'm absolutely out of here for a while, but shall return eventually.

Ed, Sorry about the two-fer. I guess when I say "shopping" I mean more browsing than actual buying (trip is going to eat up all available funds!). Interested in childrens clothing, maybe a typical Paris department store, perhaps Rue Cler or another market. We have seen Channel, Laurant, etc on the previous trip-fun to look at but definately out of our price range, even during the sales. Would like to see ana area of stores that are different from those found in every other city in Europe (Zara, etc, we love them but will see them in other cities),something more typical of France. Thanks so much for your help.
