Thanks, Norma! I am kicking myself now even more for not being able to fit that in on my last trip to Paris. Definitely moves to the top of the itinerary for the next visit.

If you go, Kerouac makes an important point not to mistake the clothes racks you see first as being the flea market itself. You need to go under the Peripherique, walk a block or two and then turn left and walk into the real network of markets.

Yes, Doug, that's important because those first vendors you see before you get to the actual market are selling some pretty awful looking stuff. Scuttle past them!
