Paris Est train station to Citea Philippe Auguste Hotel in Paris

Hi, we arrive by train and would like to know the best way to get from the Paris Est train station with one suitcase each to the hotel Citea Philippe Auguste at 12 rue Pierre Bayle. We arrive via train at approx 4:30 pm. Thank you for any help. Lee

  1. To get step by step instructions on how to do it on the Metro,

go here

for departure destination, enter exactly

gare de l'est

for ending destination, paste in your address, suggest you include the Paris postal #, which I'm going to guess is 75020; if you find from the hotel website that 75020 is in fact the correct number, then the address you enter for destination will be

12, rue Pierre Bayle, 75020 Paris (the comma may or may not be required by the site)

and hit enter and you should get detailed instructions, then e-mail those instructions to yourself or print out a hard copy, because the instructions will only be there for a few minutes before the page expires.

That should be a quiet neighborhood, adjacent to the Pere Lachaise cemetery.

  1. If you think you'll be tired and not in the mood to haul your bags up and down Metro stairs and just want to take a taxi, it's roughly 2.5 miles by taxi; normally a 15 min ride but that time of day, with traffic, could take longer and be more expensive, difficult to predict.

If you use the Journey Planner on the link Kent gave you, you will find this route: Metro line 5 from Gare de l'Est to Stalingrad and Metro line 2 from there to Philippe Auguste. If your suitcases are carry-on size, taking the Metro will not be difficult. The fare for a single ticket is 1.60 EUR and includes transfers.

What a great location, just a short walk from Pere Lachaise Cemetery.
