We will be traveling to France, starting with 5 days in Paris this May. The website to purchase tickets to go to the top of the Eiffel tower says that tickets "not available" for the specific dates we are in Paris. Does anyone have any recommendation as to what other ways we can get tickets to the top of the Eiffel tower? Cannot even get restaurant reservations at "LE JULES VERN"!
Thanks.
vivien, tickets are still available, but just not for advance buy! This is something new started a few years ago only.. they presell a SMALL amount of tickets for time slots , but the normal line up for tickets is still the norm for most visitors to the Tower( as I said, they only presell a few, I think someone said its only 25 tickets per 15 minute time slot) . So, at this late day , yes presells will be gone ( if you want those you have to snap them up soon as they open your dates for presell). Some people have however lucked out by constantly checking website as very occasionally a few slots open up , not sure if that's cancellations or what. Some have also reported that they have chosen "second level " tickets , that's a good way to avoid long line at base, and when you get to second level you can then get into line for the top level as they do sell tickets for top from second level also. Finally, do not discount taking the stairs. They are not as bad as you might think, I did them for the first time when I was in my mid forties and lived , and I am not sporty at all!! The line for stairs is never that long ( ha ha, no surprise) the stairs only go to second level and then you can line up for top elevator tickets from there. Frankly, I have been to ET many times and find the views from the second level to be just as rewarding, the top level is always so crowded I never enjoy my time up there anyways and would not bother if given my choice( but when I am with friends or family that haven't been they usually want to go to top )
Thanks Victoria. I will keep checking the website to snag my tickets!!
There are companies which provide tours so you can skip the line. I discovered this here on one of the threads.
