Hi all, My college student is looking for day trip ideas for her Spring break next week from Paris. She may be traveling solo so safety is key (from my perspective!)
Already planning on Versailles but any other ideas? Thanks!
The city of Chartres is fantastic for a day trip (the cathedral and the centre ville are fantastic). On the same train line is the Chateau de Maintenon (2 or 3 stops before Chartres) which has beautiful aqueducts around the chateau. There are plenty of fantastic options!
Fontainbleau, lovely chateau, nice town, nice grounds.
Safety not an issue, nice little town. In fact ,, i can't think of any safety issues with any daytrip.
The two suggestions already given are great. I would add: Vaux le Vicomte - a great chateau, easy to get to. Giverny - I believe Fat Tire bikes does a tour that goes there so she wouldn't be alone. Malmaison - home of Josephine and Napoleon. All three are in the RS Paris guide.
