Paris ComboPass Premium

Has anyone heard of or used this pass and is something we should consider for a April 2010 Trip?

Never heard of it. Have heard about a Paris Viste Pass, and consider it unnessesary,, and know about the Paris Museum Pass, and that is ok for some people.

IMO, this is a lousy deal for several reasons. First, the pass includes things you're not likely to use. So why pay for them? Second, the Paris Visite pass, which is the transportation part of the combo pass, is overpriced if you buy it in Paris. And you'll pay even more for it as part of the combo pass package.

For transportation you'll be much better off buying ten-ticket carnets as needed and sharing the tickets and possibly buying one-day Mobilis passes on days you know you'll be taking a lot of rides, or loading a seven-day Carte Orange on a passe Navigo Decouverte card if your stay in Paris falls on the right days of the week. (The Carte Orange is good Monday-Sunday, not any seven-day period.) For all your transportation ticket and pass choices with links to detailed explanations of each one, go here.

Buy 2-, 4-, or 6-day Paris Museum Passes when you get to Paris.

If you want to go on a Seine River cruise, buy your tickets in Paris.

Stacy,, I have been to Paris many times,, I only purchased a Paris Musuem Pass once,, a two day one ,, for a 2 week visit. I just wanted to use it to skip line at Musee D'Orsay,( last July as a matter of fact), but as it turned out the lines weren't even that bad. I wouldn't bother again personally. I find they make you feel like you need to rush about to "get your moneys worth" ,, I prefer to visit musuems slowly,, maybe only one or most two a day.. so not cost wise really. Others like them because they like to "pop in and out" of serveral places a day . Personal tastes.

You could just buy a short one( 2 days) and use it for the places known to have lines( St Chapelle and Orsay, and Orangerie for example). Do not buy online ahead of time, absolutely no need. They are easy to buy at most places( museums ) in Paris and you will not pay a mark up or delivery fee.

I have never needed more then a carnet or two of metro tickets,, and I stay about 2-3 weeks at a time. A carnet is just a pack of 10 tickets sold at a dscount. I like walking,, and tend to stay central,, so do walk alot.

Alot depends on your personal travel style and how long you will be in Paris.

We used the 6 day Paris Museum pass during a 2 week stay in Apr 2009. It got us into a lot of museums and sites we did want to see very easily and was cost effective. It did mean scheduling our time so that we did a lot of museums in those 6 days. Since we were there for a long period of time, we did buy a local weekly Metro pass (we had pictures we brought with us to use with the pass as required) They worked out very well and as we arrived on a Sunday, we just bought tickets that day, then we bought a pass on each of the Mondays for that weeks travel. it gave us the freedome to get on the Metro whenever we want to wherever without having to think about cost or standing in line to buy tickets. Enjoy!

Agree with Mitch. We'll be in France in early March and will be in Paris for 9 days. Our plan is to buy the 6 day museum pass as it will allow us entry to places we really want to see and also those which we might not otherwise see, even if we just spend an hours or so at some museums. It seems to be cost effective, especially since it includes Versailles, and we can just pop in to some places as we pass by. We do have to schedule well, though. For transportation we plan to buy either carnet or a Carte Orange Navigo Découverte. Check this web site.

Aside from considerations raised by some of whether travel or museum passes are cost effective, assuming that I decide they are, I have one very serious question. Whereas travel passes and Paris museum pass are sold at numerous locations, the Paris combopass premium is available only through conciergerie.com. I don't know who these people are and why only they sell this particular combination. Are they reputable?
