I'm traveling on a spur of the moment trip to Paris with a dear friend in 8 days and saw an internet site for a Paris ComboPass that can only be purchased online. It includes all transportation (except hop on hop off bus) in Paris and 60 museums and monuments. Has anyone tried this? Primary concern is not waiting in line.

If you buy a Museum Pass in Paris, that will cover your museum needs and be much cheaper. You can't possibly visit 60 museums & monuments, anyway. Who could? Since you will be in Paris for 8 days, for transportation your best bet is a Navigo Decouverte pass. It will cost about 17 euro + 5 euro for the card itself and is good from Monday to Sunday. Take a small 1" x 1" head shot of yourself for this pass. Any old photo will do, no need for a passport type photo.
