Paris- buying scarves

I was hoping to buy a new scarf in Paris, for myself & also as a gift for daughter. What is a good price to look out for. Bargain shopping from home... :) You can save me time & I thank you in advance ;-)

Shelley,
Paris is "scarf heaven". They are all over. It depends on what you want to pay. I have bought beautiful ones in Museum shops, shops on the street and in outdoor markets. Even check the Department stores. I bought 4 at the Bastile Market one Sunday. There is a nice scarf/purse store on the main street of the Ile St Louis where I've gotten 2 purses and 2 scarves. I wear a scarf every day I'm in Europe. Have them show you a couple new ways to tie them!!

You can find scarves virtually everywhere in Paris. The souvenir shops along the rue de Rivoli (across from the Louvre) are good places for inexpensive ones. I personally like the scarves and jewelry found in the accessories section of the BHV department store (on the ground floor). I like this department store a lot, it's across the rue de Rivoli from the Hotel de Ville. Not too expensive. There are many other reasonable clothing stores along this street also, a place you are likely to be -- all will have many scarves.

Almost all the big outdoor food markets have scarves. I have purchased many at the Saxe Breteuil market, President Wilson, and the Bastille market. When you get more than one you can barter with the people.Someone on here or trip advisor recently said that one of the bigger metro lines had a huge scarf store...I will try to find that post.In our travels all over France I try to buy scarves everywhere. I have good ones, cheap ones, long ones, and short ones. They make great gifts for yourself as well as others.

Outside of the big department stores, Printemps and Galeries Lafayette, on the sidewalk, there are always vendors selling scarves, handbags, bedroom slippers, T shirts, etc. I always buy at least one scarf. €10 or thereabouts, sometimes 2 for 15.
