Do the hop-on-hop-off buses run at night - Is it a good way to see the city lit up at night? or it is better to take a bateau.

They do not run at night, well , I think they stopped at 6:30 or 7 .. which was a bummer as I think it would have been great to see things in the dark.
You could take a regular bus though, I understand route 69 is quite good for sightseeing, but I have not taken it.
The night boat tours are nice though, try one.
In summer it is light out till about 9:30 or 10( even later in June) so keep that in mind.

Thanks Pat -never thought about it still being light at 8 or 9 in May . Will probably take the bateau later in the evening- any idea how late they run.
