PARIS BUS SYSTEM 2

Also on the RAPT website, I noticed the Montmartrobus route. As one of our seniors group of 4 has heart problems and can only do a minimal amount of climbing (stairs, hills), we were wondering how we could see Montmartre under these circumstances. This bus route seems very interesting and if it runs regularly, we could use it to get from one part of Montmartre to another to minimize the walking. Is anyone out there familiar with it? Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Maureen

I have no personal experience riding either the Balabus or the Montmartrobus. One regular line that many people like is #69. It does NOT run on Sundays. See this zoomable map of the line.

For a map of both regular and special bus routes that are considered especially good for tourists, go here.

If you google "montmartrobus/ratp" and click onto the first one showing, you will get a printable map of the route, showing all the stops. When you are in Paris you can acquire a large, readable map of all the Paris bus routes at any Metro station.

For both the Balabus and Montmartrobus

This link is to what RATP considers to be "tourist" related buses
http://www.ratp.info/touristes/index.php?langue=en&rub=reperer&cat=plan-bus

On the RATP website (english version) under "Discover Paris", then select "tourist excursions" there are exact details for each of these buses, routes and times.

You can catch the Montmartrobus at the Pigalle Metro station (line 12 and 2) - runs about every 15 minutes

Balabus from Gare Lyon to La Defense runs about every 20 minutes.

Fare is the same for regular bus travel.

Oh - and no audio guides - these are just particular tourist routes to help in travel to sites.

If you are wanting such you will need to look at tour companies specifically. Open Bus tours etc.
