On the RAPT website, I noticed one bus route called the Balabus. Is anyone out there familiar with it. Does it give a good overview of the core of the city? Does it run every day? Does it have audio guides? Is it expensive? Any information would be appreciated.

About Balabus I know nothing, but here are 3 bus routes which will serve you well as a means of seeing the city of Paris. There will be no audio guides, they run every day but Sunday and the ride will cost one ticket only.
No. 69 No. 42 No. 73
You will see many sights (Tour Eiffel, Hotel de Ville, Opéra, Concorde, La Madeleine, Louvre, Place de la Bastille, etc.) most of which you will recognize at once. Take a map of Paris with you on the bus so you can follow the route.
