Any thoughts on flying into this airport? I'm considering taking a late flight into here from Rome for cost reasons. Would like to know issues with transportation into Paris, etc.
Be careful you add in the cost and inconvenience of flying into the so-called "Paris Beauvais" airport, which is abut 90 minutes from Paris. The bus, which costs 13 Euro, will drop you off in a large parking lot at Porte Maillot, in the northwest corner of Paris. You'll have to hike to the nearest Metro station (to the south) or take a cab from the Concorde Lafayette hotel, just across the street. Depending on how late your flight arrives, you may find yourself with the Metro system shut down. If more than two of you are travellng, send one right off the plane and out the front door to turn right to purchase bus tickets....that'll avoid you getting caught in a long line. Once tickets are bought and luggage retrieved, head for the bus that looks like it's going to fill first.....that'll be the first one away. I've found this route to be too inconvenient. I now fly either easyjet or vueling into CDG or Orly....a few extra Euro is worth it, to me.
Thanks for the tip. I just compared EasyJet and Ryanair flights, and the initial advantage of cost for Beauvais was wiped out by taxes and distance from Paris. I went with EasyJet to Orly instead.
