Several months ago I saw a Rick Steves's segment on Paris where he participated in an evening tour of Paris in a 1950's Citroen 2CV and it looked really neat. We did this two weeks ago and it was a highlight of our trip. We reserved for a 22:00 tour and the young man arrived at 9:30 and away we went. It was absolutely awesome-the night was comfortable for the top to be down, the young man spoke excellent English and was very personable, and the old car added an exponentially enhanced cool factor. I am a car guy and this was just a great experience. This is something we would highly recommend for an evening activity. http://en.parisauthentic.com/ Buon viaggio,
I originally viewed this tour as an option for my forthcoming trip to Paris. Based upon your review, I will definitely do it now. Thank you. Do you know how far in advance a reservation should be placed?
If your trip is coming up shortly I would reserve as soon as possible. Our tour was 8/7/2013 and I think I reserved in May, 2013. The driver told us there was three guys who started this company with three old cars and now they have fifteen old cars. One additional fact is these cars are convertibles, so you could cruise with the top down. Buon viaggio,
We just went to Paris and was so excited to do the car tour on our last night in Paris. We were very disappointed - the driver was late, not knowledgable about Paris or the history of Paris, poor English, drove really fast from place to place. We were supposed to sip champagne while enjoying the views - she did not give us the champagne that is part of the deal and then lied about it! I have read really good reviews about doing this and think our experience was totally related to the driver we had. We just felt for 195 Euro we did not get value for our money.
