I'm seeing mixed reviews of the services offered by Paris Attitude, but I've found the most amazing apartments offered there for prices I can afford. We are going for three weeks next September, and my dream is to stay on Isle St. Louis. (There is one right on the Quai ..... sigh......) Anyone have some wisdom about Paris Attitude to offer me?
Paris Attitude is an agency that represents owners. As you say, the reviews are mixed. I have no personal experience with it, however some the posts on Trip Advisor are so poor in comparison to other rental options such as VRBO that I've decided not to use it. Apparently, many of the apartments on PA are also on other sites like VRBO, so you might check around to see if you can find your desired apartment elsewhere.
Yeah, I've spent hours on VRBO and there are some nice places but I've been blown away by what I've found on PA. There is that little voice inside that says "If it looks too good to be true, it probably is".

You might post the specific property here and on TA and other sites to see if anyone has experience with it and PA.
Hi Carol, We used Paris Attitude to book an apartment for my in-laws in March 2009. It wasn't the greatest experience. What we found frustrating was that the price quoted on the website and in our first communications with Clement at the agency was very different from the actual total price. After cleaning fees, mandatory rental insurance, and other administrative add-ons (which were not listed on the website or in our first emails with the agency), we ended up paying almost double the price we originally thought the apartment would be. If you decide to use them, just beware that the price you see on the website may not be the price you will actually pay, and don't sign any agreements until they have quoted you the total price with all fees included. On the positive side, the apartment was safe, clean, and comfortable, and communication with the agency was always prompt. My in-laws said the check-in and check-out process went fine, too. We just felt like they could have been more up-front about the fees and insurance. Enjoy Paris!!!
We rented two apts from PA last summer and we were happy with their service. We had no problems with them at all. Our contact person there was Amelie Grousseau. I liked her a lot. I too found their prices lower than all other agency listings I looked at (100's!). I like the way VacationinParis.com works, you can pay by cc, but their apts were too expensive for us. I never saw one VRBO apt that I liked. But everyone is different, and there's something out there for everyone. If you go to ParisNotes.com they have a long list of reputable rental agencies that they have checked out before recommending.
I just read Emma's post, after posting mine... We paid exactly what the website said. We did not pay any cleaning fees, insurance (we were told it was voluntary) or other administrative add-ons. We rented for a month, which is why there was no cleaning fee. But most, if not all, agencies I checked out do charge a cleaning fee if you stay less than a month.
Take a look at iloveparisapartments.com
They have a couple on the island that might interest you - one that I really like but my husband prefers the 6th so we rent a different apt from them.
Iloveparisapartments.com only shows one on Ile Saint Louis and it looks really good but it's very expensive at 215 euros per night. We rented a very nice, 300 sq ft studio on Ile Saint Louis and paid $100 per night total, and then a very nice one bedroom apt on Ile Saint Louis for $120 per night total. That's the problem I found with other agencies, they're a lot more expensive.
Thanks, Janice and Susan. There was nothing on Iloveparis that filled the bill for me. I'm really glad to hear that Susan had a good experience with PA. I also have looked at hundreds of listings on various sites, and PA seems to come up with the ones that tug at me the most.
You've all been very helpful.
I spent a year researching before I went with PA. I never saw any of their apts on any other website, and definitely not on VRBO as Tex wrote. Carol, if I were you, I would deal with Amelie Grousseau. We exchanged a lot of emails and phone calls. One call was an hour long - she was very patient and answered every question. I grilled her on some of the criticism I had read on TA and she had intelligent, logical answers for everything and was very, very nice. Nothing offended her. All I can speak about is our experience and it was very good.
Thanks, Susan. I will follow up on that.
