Hello. I am trying to convince my husband to take a 4 day trip to Paris the last weekend of Aug. He doesn't want to go that particular weekend because he feels it will still be crowded and doesn't want to wait in long lines to get into the museums. This will be our only chance to go before the end of the year as my husband's schedule will be too busy for us to take a quick trip. Is the latter part of Aug still considered busy or will it begin to calm down?
For Parisians August means holiday away. For myself it is my favorite month in Paris, because everyone is gone on holiday. Parking is easy, the metro is never crowded, there is always a Velib. Tourist attractions in the summer always bring a crowd and the recommended Museum Pass is a good idea. You may find in some areas shops, restaurants and cafes may be closed. But I think you will find that it can be lovely.

What a great site, thanks!
Amanda, Paris was packed with tourists in early May when I was there. I did not want to get a museum pass but took someone's advice to get there just before they open and was really lucky to get right in.
Brianna, I have told my husband that we can purchase advance tickets that will allow to bypass the ticket lines. The main place we hope to visit is the Louvre and I have found a hotel that is an apprx 5 minute walk, which would make it easy to get there before the doors open, so I am trying to have my husband make a decision before I make it for the both of us :)
