We are looking to stay at an apt on Rue Marie Stuart close to Rue Montorgueil. We have read that the area stays pretty lively through the night. We are only concerned about a good night's sleep. Does anyone know the area or has even stayed in the area?

Hi David,
the above link is "Tom's Guide to Paris". In it he discusses the various Paris neighborhoods. If you haven't settled on an apartment yet, you may be interested in the following VacationInParis link.

bon voyage! p.
I stayed for 2 weeks on rue Tiquetonne a side street about 2 blocks off of Montorgueil. There were several restaurants and a pub on this street, and since I was sleeping in the front room near the street I did notice a little noise at night from this. I'm not sure how many bars/restaurants are on Rue M. itself -- perhaps you can check with the apartment owner to see how quiet it is. But the whole area is pretty lively. It's a great location though. I recommend it.
Bringing some earplugs might do the trick.
