Hello. If anyone has had experiences with renting an apartment in Paris could you please give me some advice? We are 4 adults and 2 kids (10 and 12) travelling there the last week of June. I have been twice before, they have not been. I am taking them all so am looking for the most economical form of accomadation. Is there a company that you have dealt with that was reputable and the experience was good? I'm concerned about extra charges being applied etc. I have been looking on a website called "Vacation in Paris" and it sounds fine but I'm a novice at this so asking for help. Thanks in advance!!
I usually stay in hotels or with friends/family, but this year I am renting from Paris BestLodge,, it is VERY well reviewed on tripadvisor.com ( check out their paris forums) and several of the posters there I have "known" for at least 4-5 years there have used them and gave glowing reports.
Dealing with Thierry ( who manages the bookings) has been super easy, he responds almost immediatly, and I have had to only send a small deposit check POSTDATED,, he also meets you at the apartments and shows you how to work all the stuff( dishwasher etc). The prices are good, I got a place with airconditioning( hard to find in budget apartments) for this july for only 800 euros a week, and it has a small balcony with an amazing view of Notre Dame!
I used Vacation in Paris for an apartment this past December and would definitely recommend them. I simply called their offices and told them what I was looking for and my price range and they gave me several options. We ended up with a studio in the Marais and loved it! Everyone I worked with from VIP was pleasant and helpful and they even had somebody meet me at the door with the keys as I was traveling from Greece. I was initially attracted to them because they did not have any fees for cleaning, etc. The best part for me was that we paid in US dollars so we didn't get nicked by the exchange rate, and they had a bottle of wine waiting for us. Enjoy Paris!
I have rented two apartments in Paris. I have used vrbo.com for Paris for both of those trips and in many other locations. You could also try homeaway.com. It is mostly the owners, also occasionally they have management companies, that list their apartments on those sites. Working directly with the owner can sometimes result in negotiating the best deal. For late June I would try to book something ASAP.
Helen - Our family(of 4) has also used Vacation in Paris and we were very pleased. We stayed in ID #56.
Helen - I've had a good experience with Vacation in Paris. They are reputable.
Thank you all! It's really wonderful to be able to ask these questions and hear from people with personal experience and insight! I really appreciate it.
You are planning my trip that my family and I took last year. Loved VIP... based in USA, can go to BBB if problem. they were great. Pay in $$ with Credit card.
No Problems.
