Can fellow travellers please give me their opinion. I am planning to spend 6 weeks in Paris and 2 weeks in Provence and would like to know what to expect weather-wise.
Should I go first to Provence mid September and Paris in October OR
Paris in September and Provence in mid October?
Which option would you choose and why
Depends on what sort of weather you prefer. Certainly, the weather in Paris is likely to be rather mild in both months, slightly cooler in October but not cold at all. Provence, on the other hand, could still be a bit hot in September.
I would recommend Paris in September. Flowers will still be out, and the days still long.
Our summer has been mild again this year with most days in the mid 70s (today is expected to be 72). You will find that the evenings may require a light jacket. The tourist levels in Paris drop significantly at the same time that many new students arrive (school year typically begins in October).
Provence in October will be cooler and quiet.
Thus, I would second the prior post.
