Ok I have always wanted to celebrate my birthday in paris....so I am thinking that this year we are going to go back and visit some family in Manchester and London. Then to Paris for my birthday.
Question whas is the weather like the end of October?
I am making an assumption it is starting to cool off, might be a few showers but I would assume the leaves would be changing and it would be beautiful......
According to about.com's France temperature information, you are looking at an average daily high of 59 degrees for the month of October.
bluedenim,, it will likely be similar to Victoria( which is a little less wet then Vancouver , but about same temps) , and totally unpredictable,( like here too, ) . London may be a little cooler, but about same.
So , basically a good time, as it won't be hot, it won't be freezing, it may or may not rain, and there will be less crowds then May-Sept.
Congrats on your upcoming trip, and good for you for finally doing what you have always wanted to do!

I was in Paris in mid-October 2008, and the weather was beautiful! I was there for 4 days, and 3 of the 4 days were sunny and mild, but not cold (probably around 60-65 degrees Farenheight), while the 4th day was foggy and cloudy and a bit rainy, but still nice enough to get out and see the city. There were also way less tourists looking to go to the top of the Eiffel tower on that foggy day, due to a somewhat limited view, but I found it to be kind of romantic, and still quite a view - with virtually no line to wait in to go up. So there is some benefit to a less-than-perfect day in Paris:) But overall, I thought October was a great time to see Paris! The gardens were still blooming and grass was green. I wouldn't hesitate to go back again in the fall.
it tens to be on the chilly side and it did rain alot when i was there in october. so bring a warm coat.
thanks for the responses
Seems like everyone has had various experiences. so the key is to be prepared I guess.
It does not bother me so much as it bothers my partner
I can confirm that the weather will be pot luck in late autumn. We've had 25°Celsius (77°F) in Lower Normandy at the end of October but we've also had snow! And that's despite the fact that our weather tends to be more moderate than Paris.
Don't imagine that Paris is always warmer than London - Paris is generally warmer in summer, but quicker to cool in autumn and colder in winter. Because it is away from the sea it heats and cools quicker than coastal zones. By end of October, London is slightly warmer, on average.
I like Kent's link.
