Paris and Brussels in October

Starting to slowly plan for an October 2011 trip. Has anyone visited Brussels or Paris this time of year? Just wondering if weather is enjoyable. I'd like to hear about personal experiences!

Brussels- expect mild temperatures and rain at any time of the year. Haven't been to Paris in October, but I imagine it would be similar.

What Tom said. Climate's climate and there ain't no moutains or large bodies of water between the two. Take a drizzel jacket.

A few years ago, I walked out of the train station in Brussels in April - it started SLEETING!

A few years earlier the weather was great springtime weather.

Last year in late Sept. the weather was cool and drizzly enough in Belgium for a jacket, and mild enough in Paris to wear short-sleeves.

What saved my mother-in-law and myself in the sleet was the fact I had a pair of fleece gloves left over from the previous winter in my pocket. While we both held the umbrella, she wore one glove, I wore the other, and our other hands went inside our pockets. BRRRRR!

Be prepared - bring a rain jacket, bring layers (long underwear), and a pair of fleece gloves. They don't way much, nor take up a lot of room, but can make all of the difference when the weather turns bad...

And on THIS website, check this weather website out: go to "Travelers Helpline", click on "FAQs", then click on "Weather". It gives you an historical perspective on the weather over the last 10-15 years...This is your best information.

Have fun planning!
