paris accomodation

My husband and I are looking for an inexpensive, clean, friendly hotel/B&B in Paris for a week. We don't mind staying in the outskirts of town if there's nearby transit directly into Paris. We're hoping to find something for less than 100E per night. Any recommendations?

We stayed here last fall as have many other on this site. We had a double bed, private bath for 62 euros.
It is in the area of Place de la Republic. We walked to all the major attractions from there. There is also a nearby Metro stop.

Hi Carol,

Although it is a bit of work to track down review of each hotel, I strongly recommend that you take a look at http://en.parisinfo.com. This is the official website for the paris visitors bureau, which comprises most hotels in Paris. On their website, they offer amazing discounts at many places, sometimes over 50% off. You will EASILY find a place for less than 100E per night that is well situated, even relatively near the Eiffel Tower.

After you find a place on that website offering discounts, try going to Trip Advisor and see what the reviews are like.

Have a great trip!

Hi,

My wife and I have been to Paris twice, first we stayed in the Hotel Mistral, and couldn't have complained about a thing, it was a great budget hotel. Then last year we went back, and rented an apartment through Vacation In Paris, and I can't recommend them enough! Rent an apartment, the absolute best value going that I've found, we stayed in the Eiffel Tower Lookout, http://www.vacationinparis.com/apts/id_154.htm, words honestly cannot express how fantastic it was, and the price is great. Look at the view : ) and Eiffel is a bit closer than it looks, I'd estimate it to be about 2 km away, and seeing as how it's almost 1000 feet tall that's not bad at all.

And the Vacation In Paris people are fantastic too, they send you the keys and all the instructions before you go.

Really, check them out, and please email me if you have any questions.

I agree that an apartment is the way to go. It can be much less expensive than a hotel. Another website to check is VRBO.

I have to agree with Adam and Andrea...an apt is the only way to go!

We used VRBO.com and Homelidays.com to search for good deals, and we found what was best for us on Homelidays. We have used both sites previously.

Our apt is going to going to cost a little over $45O EU for five nights. We originally wanted to keep the cost below $100 US/nite, and found a great little place that would have met that requirement, but when the Boss saw another place with an Eiffel tower view, it was all over...we picked the $90 EU nite "tower view" place.

I'd opt for a BB indeed, or a vacation rental. I did that last time I went to New York and it was a really good thing to do, I stayed in a nice apartment for a week, could cook "home" (which saves money compared with having to go to restaurants for every meal). I know the company I went through also has apartments including BB's in Paris. To me, they were of great help to choose the neighborhood etc.

Although i've never stayed in a Paris apt because we live close to the city, we have had friends who choose to go the apt route and it has always worked quite well...okay, so one apt had a really tiny elevator, according to the Americans, and another had a washing machine that they just couldn't figure out how to use. Several people on this site have suggested VRBO..so i looked at it..Makes me wish i could live in Paris for a week!!...RE: Bed and Breakfast..the mayor of Paris is trying to promote that option. The only site i can find for now is ...www.chambredhotedeparis.com....But DO stay in the city...The "outskirts" are fine, but not my first choice for a vacation.
