Paris: accommodation options near Rue Cler

My partner and I are going to Paris for the first time in Sept./Oct., and find this site extremely helpful for our trip planning ! Everyone is so friendly and helpful, Thank You !

... We have read some positive entries here about accommodation near Rue Cler... We've checked out the web site for Grand Hotel Leveque but were wanting to view some more options before making the plunge. Are there any more hotels/web sites in the area you recommend ?

Thanks !

"One thing you are sure to find in the Rue Cler area - other Americans!"... all of whom seem to carry a copy of "Rick Steve's Paris".

Hotel de la Tulipe…two blocks from Rue Cler on Rue Malar. Visit their website at www.paris-hotel-tulipe.com for information, photos, etc.

I love this place. It’s a little higher than the hotels right on Rue Cler, but it’s very nice and still not too bad on the budget. Don’t let the North American (yep - lots of Canadians in addition to Americans) tourists dissuade you from visiting the Rue Cler area…it’s a must see.

RS Paris guidebook details lots of Rue Cler hotel options.
You are going to see other tourists all over Paris and there are many areas, like near the Louvre, where the concentration of tourist hotels is much higher.

I second Hotel Valadon. My wife and I stayed there in May, we had a great time. Victor and Marie are very accomodating and Othello does a good job of greeting the guests in return for a treat!

Just to add that Rue Cler is a long way from most sights in Paris except the Eiffel Tower.

Do you have a copy of RS "Paris-2009" guide book yet? If not you should get it as it had lots of helpful information for us when we stayed on Rue Cler last month.
